Utterly baffled
"By the fall of 2006, Crocs' first full year of earnings reports as a public company showed that it was a phenomenal grower, and that it wasn't just generating profit-less revenue like an empty-headed dot-com. It was making massive fistfuls of money with its wacky little shoes. Check this out: In 2002, records show the company earned a gross profit of $1,000. In 2003, $27,000. In 2004, $6.3 million. In 2005, $60.8 million. In 2006, $200.6 million."
For the love of God, people, why??? Why on Earth are these FUGLY shoes so damned popular??

Everyone has been telling me what your friend Angela just said, that they are the most comfortable shoes ever and they might be...but they are just so dang ugly! I thought the same about those stupid Jellie shoes when we were kids, too. But you know me, I'm pretty anti-trend when it comes to...well...just about everything. Hee!

The first time I saw them I was amazed anyone would buy them. Then we got them for my son because he couldn't put on his own shoes (we'd been through multiple other kinds of shoes and someone told me Crocs were easy to put on.) We had a new baby so getting out of the house was complicated enough without putting on extra shoes...and sixteen months later, darned if those shoes haven't slowly crept onto every one else's feet. The Mary Janes were my Mother's Day gift this year. Actually, Andrea, even those are UGLY but they don't turn my feet black like Tevas, the other easy to wear run-around shoe. I am still amazed anyine would buy them...including myself...

Well! This is the most commented-on entry I've had in a long time. I guess I'm going to have to try the foolish things, now...
