Trying

I have made no progress at all toward the fitness goal I wanted to reach before my birthday in July, but I'm actually okay with that. All I really want to do is feel better, energy-wise and attitude-wise. To that end, I'm keeping it simple. Eating more fiber and replacing one meal with a protein smoothie, and working out for a half-hour each day (cardio M/W/F, weights T/Th/Sa, yoga Su). Water water water, green tea green tea green tea.

I'm taking Xenadrine for a while, too, to help with my energy level. It's helping me to get off my ass, anyway.

If I feel like I've made progress, I'm going to buy some new clothes. I know I'll only do this if I feel like I've REALLY made progress - I never clothes shop when I feel fat. Heh.

Walking at Work 5/17-5/21

Monday 5/17 - 2.67 miles
Tuesday 5/18 - 2.85 miles
Wednesday 5/19 - unknown - didn't wear pedometer (it doesn't go with a dress)
Thursday 5/20 - 4.28 miles
Friday 5/21 - unknown - the pedometer reset itself sometime during the day, but I'm sure it's at least as much as Thursday (same kind of activity)
Saturday 5/22 - walked over four miles at the zoo!

Walking at Work

I've been wearing my pedometer (I know - geek!) to work, tracking just how much wandering around I do in a day. I've decided to keep track of it here, for curiosity's sake. I'm doing the small changes thing - parking further away from the building, taking the stairs instead of the elevator, and taking a lunchtime walk through the buildings. I start tracking from the time I leave the house in the morning, until I return after work.

It's 9/10 of a mile from my desk to the #2 building cafe and back again. It's 1.4 miles from my desk to the end of the #7 building passthrough, back through to the #2 building cafe, and back to my desk.

Thursday - 3.14 miles
Friday - 3.44 miles
