Another entry

Heather was doing a survey, so I did it too.

Recommendations?

Okay, Notify List is totally jacked, and I've heard from a couple of different folks that Yahoo Groups is unreliable, too. Can anybody recommend to me a RELIABLE notify list?

New One

There's a new entry up, all about the bawling. With a few more pictures of Anthony.

Heartbreaking

Pat Tillman was killed in the line of duty. I really admired him for what he did - giving up his NFL career and joining the military after 9/11. I even further admire *how* he did it - he insisted on no publicity whatsoever, and granted no interviews. He was just a man who wanted to serve his country, and he just happened to make millions of dollars in the NFL. His brother joined up at the same time, giving up a minor league baseball career. They must have been really close, and their family must have been so proud.

Being from our home state and playing for our home team, I've seen him play any number of times, and always crushed on him. This is just really, really sad.

Blah

The kids are going back to California today. It's been a good visit, with an eeny bit of drama (but when doesn't our life have drama?). I'm feeling the letdown that I'm beginning to anticipate whenever the end of their visit arrives. We've talked about family, future plans, and what the kids want out of life. We were able to have long talks with Lilly and Michael, separately and together, and both Calvin and I are learning about what our relationship will be like with them, as adults. But mostly, we've held the baby at the center of our attention, at times six or seven of us (family and friends) standing in a circle around him, looking down on him and doing weird stuff to make him smile.

I'm feeling kind of wrung out right now, and I don't really know why. There's a lot of stuff in my head that needs to get written out, I think, but I don't have the gumption right now to start up an entry. Even in this blog entry, I've started and stoppped and backspaced and re-written a half-dozen times.

Stopping now.
