Groovin' on a Friday afternoon
I'm listening to the Bee Gee's ("What you doin' on your back? Hey! You should be dancin'. YEAH!"). Before that, I was listening to No Doubt ("Rock Steady"). I think my analytical skills actually *improve* when I'm entertained while I'm working. People keep coming into my office to ask me questions, though, and as my back is to the door and I have my headphones on, they keep scaring the CRAP out of me.
They tried a while back to ban headphones from AcronymCo, saying that folks couldn't hear the emergency alarm, should it go off. First off, there would be a MUTINY on their hands (we're not allowed to listen to music without headphones, either). Second off, the damn thing is so friggin' loud that I'd still get up and follow the Emergency Response Route even if I was DEAD AND PROPPPED UP IN MY CUBICLE.
Just an hour to go, thank God.

Positive Thinking Therapy
Things to be happy about today...
- My back is feeling better, so I can start working out again.
- I really like protein smoothies.
- I'm surrounded by pictures of my family in my cubicle.
- I know the secret hiding place of the Sparklettes water cooler, so I don't have to fill my water bottle from the fountain.
- I like almost all of the people that I work with.
- We're having Dawn's recipe for salmon tonight.
- Calvin is going to build shelves in The Kids' room for me to finally put up my books.
- The books that I have weeded out of my collection to take to the used book store will result in a hefty credit with which I can obtain MORE books.
- I start school again in January, and my manager is allowing me to flex my work schedule so I can take classes during the day and not have to sacrifice spending time with my family in the evening.
- Today is my 8-year anniversary at AcronymCo, which means I get an extra week's vacation added to my available vacation time.
- Marie got straight A's on her report card. Again. She gets that from me.
- The next installment of Calvin's Beer of the Month Club membership should be arriving any time now.
- We get to go see a Phoenix Suns game next month - good seats for $13 apiece!
I'll probably add more to this later.

Here in Hell...
Check the date. October 22nd, right? Time for the falling leaves, and the spiced cider, and the sweaters. Except? Not so much.
It's supposed to be 102 here today, people. It was 103 yesterday. And the day before that.
The fuh?

Home
I'm working from home today, due to a very sore back - which the chiropractor BETTER fix this afternoon, or I may go crazy. I think it's because of my mattress, and I'm seriously thinking of looking into the Tempurpedic mattress - you know, the one made out of material "Approved By Nasa!". It looks comfy, anyway. I'm not sure why an astronaut would need a cushy mattress when they'd just float above it.
Anyway, I'm here, working diligently but always open for a break. So if anybody wants to IM me, my IM name is geckotlc, e-mail is snerkology@hotmail.com.

There's a new entry up over at ~Snerkology~. These will be the last of the pictures of baby Anthony for a while, I'm afraid.
Although there may be some of you out there that are grateful for that fact. :)
