Gulp
There's tornado warnings for Maricopa County today. It's turned into a blustery day! The thunder is rolling outside as I type this, and I keep looking out the windows searching for funnel clouds. I have a completely freakish fear of tornados, and I've never even seen one before. Must be that early exposure to The Wizard of Oz. Thanks a lot, Mom.
Coffee Remedy
I should be heading out in a bit to meet Heather, for coffee and bagels and a spin through Trader Joe's. My head is splitting after the funfunfun that Calvin and I had last night, sitting at the bar at TGI Friday's, having gin-and-tonics (me) and amber beer (him), munching on appetizers and making each other crack up. I think one of the reasons (besides being lazy) that I'm 13 pounds heavier than I want to be is because one of my very favorite things to do in life is hang out at a restaurant, drinking and eating and gabbing with Calvin. We haven't run out of things to talk about yet, and we've been together for going on seven years. Love that.
Anyway, I brewed a pot of coffee for myself (oh, I guess Calvin can have some, too), and will probably have two cups before Heather even calls me - I'm done with the first already, and I've only been up for a few minutes. It seems to be the cure to what's ailing me, though... the headache is fading, at any rate.
The plan for the day is to shop, come home and work out, lounge in the hot tub, shower, and prepare for friends who are coming over tonight. One of Marie's good friends who moved away last year has moved back, so she'll probably live at our house this weekend (hide the cheese!). Sadly, tomorrow we're attending a funeral for a friend of ours whose dad passed away earlier this week. It'll be the first funeral I've attended since losing Grammy, and I'm a little nervous about it.
Heather just called, I'm off!

Confessions of a weirdo
I confess that not two seconds ago, I picked up the ringing phone. And when the airy pause was heard, I knew it was a telemarketer. And when the person asked for the homeowner, I pretended to be Marie and told him my parents weren't home.
Damn, I hate me some telemarketers.
I think I just might sign up for TagBoard Enhanced if enough people have enough fun with this little basic one. Besides, I'm a sucker for a good sales pitch:
"New features will leave your visitors gasping at your mastery of webmastery. With Tag-Board Enhanced, your Tag-Board will take on the power of a chat room..."
As old as this is, it never fails to crack me up.
Testing out Blogger's "BlogThis!" feature, by the way.
If anybody wants me to add their link here (I'll have 'em over on the right side eventually - BlogRolling apparently isn't taking new subscriptions at the moment), just drop me a line, or better yet, leave a comment!
Plug plug plug...
And whilst I'm at it (because, well, I am), can anybody tell me why the heck I can't get SiteMeter to work on this thing? I've done it before, for crying out loud. The code is in my template, but the darned thing isn't showing up.
Aimlessly posting, over here...
Okay! I think I've got this thing set up the way I want it. Really, I just wanted a place where I could chat with my friends, post thoughts that didn't warrant a full-blown entry, and futz around with the silly little Blog toys that are out there. Besides, everyone else has got one, right? I just get bored and loney, so hopefully I'll get LOTS AND LOTS of traffic, and my friends will post LOTS AND LOTS of comments.
